The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II) on Sunday drew the curtains on his week long corronation ceremony at a thanksgiving service held at St Paul Anglican Church, Ayegbaju, Ile-Ife.
The coronation marks the official presentation of staff of office to him as the 51st Ooni of Ife.
The Ooni almost turned a clergyman when he craved the indulgence of the congregation to allow him mount the pulpit from where he stood and spoke to the congregation during the coronation
He appreciated God for choosing him and prayed that the peace and light that he has come to fulfill in ile-Ife would spread to the State of Osun, Yoruba land, Oodua race, Nigeria and the world at large.
The revered monarch, while standing up before the congregation, asked them to sing along with him as he led in several praise songs to God who has kept him alive, made him the king and for making the the entire coronation event a huge success.
In his sermon, The Lord Bishop of Ife, Rt Reverend Oluranti Odubogun decribed Ooni as conqueror, and likened him to King Solomon in the Old Testament who had been ordained to be king from the womb of his mother. He prayed God to grant him wisdom to walk walk gregariously with God’s illumination so that he can sail through and have a successful reign.
