Adams Oshiomhole
Former governor of Abia state Orji Uzor Kalu has revealed that he will only throw his weight behind whomever President Muhammadu Buhari backs for the chairmanship position of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Kalu made this known when contender for the post Adams Oshiomhole visited him.
The APC National Convention is scheduled for 23 June, 2018.
And Oshiomhole, the immediate past number one citizen of Edo promised Kalu, a bigwig of the APC in the southeast, that he would make organs of the party stronger if elected.
As stated by him, the APC, under his leadership, would be a party with an identity and a character with core values.
“You are a delegate on your right and you have the capacity to mobilise. You are doing this in the business world which everybody can see. If I have your support, I know I will have the votes of several others,” the former governor told Kalu.
In his reply, Kalu said he would support the former president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) provided he (Oshiomhole) has the backing of President Muhammadu Buhari for the role.
“You are a strong candidate, we shall continue to pray that you prevail, but, any one who will not support president Muhammadu Buhari, who has offered to continue his service to this nation, I will not support. I will only support whomever Mr President supports.”
