Governor Samuel Ortom Benue State has denied writing any petition to the Department of Security Service (DSS) towards former Governor Gabriel Suswam.
As said by some experiences, Ortom allegedly wrote the DSS, fingering the previous governor over the killings within the state.
Reacting by his spokesman, Terver Akase, the governor mentioned the report linking him to Suswamβs ordeal was completely false and ought to be dismissed.
He mentioned: βWe want to categorically state that Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom didn't write a petition which led to the arrest of former Governor of the State, Gabriel Suswam, opposite to some media experiences.
βSuch experiences are false, deceptive and mischievous.
βThe Benue State Government has written a petition towards leaders of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore and has filed a lawsuit towards the group. The State Government has proof to show that the socio-cultural organization is accountable for current assaults and killing of harmless folks within the state.
βThose peddling the allegation that Governor Ortom is behind the arrest of his predecessor are doing so to trigger disaffection and create a state of confusion.
βThe Ortom administration is not going to be distracted from its dedication to get justice for victims of senseless assaults on the state.
βWe urge Benue people and other Nigerians to disregard the reports.β
