The tribunal panel hearing matters emanating from the 2015 National Assembly polls in Osun State, has reserved ruling indefinitely in the matter involving Osun East Senatorial District.

Prince Francis Fadahunshi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenged the victory of Senator Babajide Omoworare of the All Progressive Congress (APC) at the polls, who was returned elected by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

While the hearing lasted, the petitioner called 30 witnesses and presented documentary evidences before Hon. Justice A. G. Kwajaffa-led panel.

The 1st and 2nd respondents, Senator Babajide Omowoware and APC, called nine witnesses, while the 3rd respondent, INEC, did not call any.

Adopting his final address before the panel, counsel to the 1st respondent, Mr. Ipoola Binuyo, urged the panel to dismiss the petition because it was frivolous and unwarranted.

Counsel to the APC Mr. Ibrahim Lawal, also told the panel to dismiss the petition because the petitioners failed to prove their case.

INEC counsel, Olorunfemi Olalekan, aligned self with 1st and 2nd respondents’ counsel, saying the petition should be dismissed.

Counsel to the 1st and 2nd petitioners, Mr. Nathaniel Oke, SAN, urged the tribunal to grant the reliefs of the petitioners, saying they have proved their case based on documentary and oral testimonies by 30 witnesses.

He noted that the respondents out of their nine witnesses, called three from areas his clients did not challenge which makes their testimonies
