Generally speaking, medium to high-speed near-misses take place outside city limits, though this time, a dashcam was on duty when a 5-door Hyundai Solaris decided to cause trouble for incoming traffic.

Right off the bat, it's winter, the road is slippery, the lanes are crowded and the cars don't seem to be going particularly slow, or at least not as slow as they should in those types of conditions. Even 60 km/h (37 mph) can be too much under these circumstances.

It just so happens that these circumstances involved another car coming towards the dashcam vehicle completely out of control and for another there, it looked like that collision was simply meant to be.

It's hard to say why the driver of the Hyundai lost control in the first place, however, even though we can't know for sure what happened to it once it was out of the dashcam's field of vision, we can deduce that it might have clipped at least one vehicle, if ever so slightly.

There's a faint noise which might indicate that perhaps the side mirror was taken off or maybe it was recently the slush being sprayed on the windshield as both vehicles narrowly avoided each other.

Thankfully this incident didn't result in a head-on collision, and that at least one driver had the presence of mind to try to escape what looked like an inescapable situation at one point.
