There seems to be a palpable tension at the hallowed chamber of the National Assembly as senate president, Bukola Saraki, has ignored correspondence meant to be read on the floor of the house this morning.

This also attracted questions from Senate minority leader, Godwill Akpabio, who was curios about the unusual development and asked the senate president why he didn’t read the list.

Deputy senate leader, Bala Na’ allah, however countered his claims noting that the senate president still have luxury of time before the session ends today.

Following this was Saraki ruling Akpabio out of Order.

Anxiety still pervades the confines of the upper chamber as today makes the deadline of the promise of Presisdent Muhammadu Buhari to unveil the list of his cabinet before the end of September.

Earlier this morning, Olusola Adeyeye was confirmed as chief whip of the senate which is the only letter the senate president had read.

Senator Olusola Adeyeye (APC-Osun Central) has been made the new chief whip of the Nigerian senate.

Adeyeye was nominated for the position by the Senate South West Caucus.

Senator Babajide Omoworare from Osun East constituency this morning also protested his inclusion in the list of the 83 senators who endorsed the senate president yesterday. He had complained yesterday that he was not consulted before his name was added.
