Jurgen Klopp has been unambiguous about sanctioning player exits from Liverpool, stating that only serious offers will be considered before the club approves a sale or loan deal.
The Reds boss warned sides looking to “gamble” in the market that they would find no luck shopping at Anfield.
He was speaking on the future of Christian Benteke, who’d be best served away from Anfield where he is a stylistic mismatch, but tackled the wider issue of outgoings.
There will be no reduction on the Belgian striker’s £30 million valuation and, similarly, no other squad members will be allowed to depart on the cheap.
Liverpool have already demonstrated that this summer, charging Bournemouth a combined £21m to recruit Jordon Ibe and Brad Smith.
“If somebody wants a player from us then he has to pay because we only have good players. There are no presents,” Klopp said.
“Some clubs try to gamble but we are not part of gambling. We are serious people. If there is a serious offer we will think about it. That’s how it always is.”

Liverpool, who have allowed Jon Flanagan to join Burnley for a season-long loan and have sent Brazilian prospect Allan to Hertha Berlin for the same period, have also made it clear temporary agreements will only be struck if there is a commitment to consistent game time for the players.
“We give a player on loan, we want that he plays - that’s the only reason we give him on loan,” Klopp explained.
The Reds have negotiated a 75% clause with lower league clubs to ensure their youngsters secure regular minutes during a short-term spell. The side loaning them would face a financial penalty if the starlets do not feature in three quarter of their matches when available.
That was the case when Ryan Kent joined Barnsley and while Wigan initially rejected that stipulation in their pursuit of Cameron Brannagan, they are now set to tie up a deal for the midfielder after accepting the condition.
The club is also set to confirm defender Lloyd Jones will spend 2016-17 at Swindon.
