THE National Vice Chairman (North Central Zone), of the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM), Mr. Daniel Samuel, has declared that the party does not recognise Abubakar Gwada as its Niger State chairman.
Samuel, who made the remark while addressing reporters in Minna, the state capital, said the party recognises Comrade Adamu Nasko as the authentic chairman, because Gwada voluntarily resigned as chairman last year.
He said: “As the National Vice Chairman of the PDM in charge of the Northcentral, I stand here before you today to announce that the national leadership of the PDM does not recognise Gwada as the Niger State chairman of the party. The authentic and constitutionally recognised state chairman is Comrade Nasko.”
Samuel said the National Secretariat will constitute a Disciplinary Committee to address the issue. He added: “the way Gwadu engages himself in illegal activities with some group of people is not in the interest of the party.
“While the case is still in court, Gwada had in contemptuous disregard for the rule of law participated in a meeting in Abuja to announce the dissolution of the national leadership and the constitution of an illegal National Caretaker Committee.”
The PDM chieftain called on members of the party at local government and the ward level in the state to close ranks and work with the recognised state leader of the party, so that they could move the party forward.
