Senator Adeleke in an interview with Special Assistant on New Media to Senate President Bukola Saraki, Bankole Omisore.
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Soji Adagunodo, has congratulated Senator Ademola Adeleke (PDP-Osun West) over his victory in the state governorship primaries.
Adeleke won the primary election by polling 1,569 while Ogunbiyi came second with 1,562.
In a statement released to newsmen, the party chairman urged Adeleke to be magimous in victory and reach out to his co-aspirants in a conciliatory manner.
The winner, Adeleke, had also expressed gratitude to all contestants including those who stepped down their ambition for him.
“I congratulate Dr Akin Ogunbiyi and his hard-fighting team for running a good and impressive campaign. It was a brotherly contest in our collective strive to redeem our state. It is, therefore, no gainsaying that we are all winners.
“My emergence as the governorship candidate of our great party marks the beginning of the divine liberation of our dear people from repression and oppression,” the lawmaker said.
