Senator Fatai Buhari who is representing Oyo North in the upper chamber of the National Assembly, has denied the claim by the opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that All Progressives Congress (APC) Senators were against the implementation of the promised N5,000, for the unemployed in the country.
Buhari who stated this at the weekend while speaking with journalists at his Ogbomosho country home, stated that the PDP Senators knew that the money is not in the budget, thus it is a mere mischief that the APC Senators killed the campaign promise of the party.
The senator said: “I was in the chamber that day, I owned up and I am one of them. There is a problem or a mischief and a sensible senator will not stand aloof or akimbo when his or her party is being discussed. It was Senator Philip Aduda who raised that beautiful motion on the issue of unemployed graduates in the country and the motion was given a thorough hearing by both Senators from PDP and APC with all the prayers of the sponsors duly approved,
“Senator Aduda then raised his hand to signify that he has another added prayer, when he brought the prayer, he stated the Senate should urge the Federal Government to start paying the N5,000 the APC promised the unemployed Nigerians and immediately we noticed that the prayer was insincere.
