The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has not collapsed but planning on how to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019, says the Peoples Democratic Party.
National Chairman of the party Uche Secondus noted that contrary to rumors, the CUPP is at a very critical implementation stage on how to defeat the All Progressives Congress in the poll.
“We have passed the stage of doubting [sic]. We are on a critical stage of implementation and with the commitment we have seen so far, we will sack President Muhammadu Buhari next year,” Secondus told Punch.
He assured that the PDP is not favoring any candidate ahead of the primaries as its doors are always open to every Nigeria.
As stated by him, the party would organize a primary that every Nigerian will be proud of.
“Unlike the APC where no one is attempting to challenge President Muhammadu Buhari, our doors are open here. The PDP is a part of all Nigerians,” he also said.
Buhari defeated then-incumbent Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP during the 2015 presidential election.
