A new rendering shows what to expect if Peugeot would decide to apply the GTi treatment to the recently unveiled 308 Sedan.
Envisioned by X-Tomi, it carries the signature dual-tone red and black treatment as its production hatchback along with a similar body kit and rims. If this were the real deal, then we should expect it to be using a 1.6-liter THP turbocharged petrol four in two outputs: 250 PS (247 HP) and 270 PS (266 HP).

The 308 GTi hatch needs 6.0 seconds to sprint from naught to 100 km/h (62 mph) in the range-topper model, capped out at 250 km/h (155 mph). Some serious punch, this, that can challenge much more expensive sports cars from the not-so-distant past.

Peugeot's 308 Sedan is aimed exclusively at the Chinese market. No details have been made public, but local reports suggest that it will eventually be offered with two petrol turbocharged units, borrowed from the 308 hatch. The car that broke cover almost two weeks ago at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show rides on the EMP2 platform, the same one used on the European version, but with a slightly longer wheelbase that translates into superior legroom for the rear passengers, a "must" for all successful cars on sale in the People's Republic.
