MILE 1 market, the biggest market in Port-Harcourt, was gutted by fire this morning.
Some traders had to be rushed to hospitals for medical attention after they collapsed watching their shops, goods get burnt.

As stated by a source, the fire started at about 3:00am from the older side of the market and in less than 40 minutes, the fire had turned everything in the older side of the market to ashes and has flushed into the newer side. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
People are, however, saying it's ritualists that sends the fire spiritually (superstition).
Mile 1 Market catches fire almost every year.
