After a last gasp win against Chievo Verona on Saturday, Juventus are hoping their home opener against Lazio will turn out to be a lot more comfortable.
Cristiano Ronaldo is still hunting for his first competitive goal in I Bianconeri colours, and it's doubtful many would bet against him finding the net at least once in this match.
With Juve's previous performance leaving a lot to be desired, they will look to impress their onlooking support with a dominating win this weekend.
Here's how they could line up against Lazio:
1. Goalkeeper
Wojciech Szczesny (GK) - Biding his time until club legend Gigi Buffon had departed, the big Pole is now the no.1 in Turin.
While some fans may wish to see new signing Mattia Perin between the sticks, Szczesny was at fault for neither of Chievo's two goals last week. The ex-Arsenal man is likely to start.
2. Defenders
Joao Cancelo (RB) - Signed for €40m this summer, the Portuguese full back offers an enviable engine, phenomenal speed and technical prowess. Previously at Valencia, Cancelo spent last year on loan at Juve's rivals, Inter.
Leonardo Bonucci (CB) - Back in Turin after his failed spell with A.C. Milan, Bonucci's harsh words last year may have rubbed some I Bianconeri fans up the wrong way. However, after pressurising Chievo defender Mattia Bani into an own goal last Saturday, the Italian is slowly but surely re-earning respect.
Giorgio Chiellni (CB) - With Juve for 13 years, the club captain is everything you could want in a defender. Strong, intelligent and determined, Chiellini is an unwavering leader.
Alex Sandro (LB) - A long term Chelsea and Manchester United target, the Brazilian's talent is indubitable. Great on both sides of the ball, Sandro's crossing ability is matched by defensive steel, forming a strongly interwoven skill set.
3. Midfielders
Miralem Pjanic (CM) - Pretty much an ever present in Juventus' first XI, the Bosnian is a terrific all round player. Positional awareness, variation of passing and the ability to pop up with a goal every now and then, Pjanic should lock down his place.
Sami Khedira (CM) - Feasibly being systematically phased out for new singing Emre Can, Khedira's best days are behind him, according to supporters. Nonetheless, it's likely he starts against Lazio, with boss Max Allegri a fan of his experience in big games.
Paulo Dybala (AM) - Near anonymous against Chievo, suggestions are Dybala could see himself benched for Blaise Matuidi. However, he'll get another chance to operate in the hole, linking play between midfield and attack. A top class dribbler, the diminutive Argentine could drag defenders into battle, thereby creating space for his frontmen.
4. Forwards
Douglas Costa (RW) - Subbed off for Mandzukic on Saturday, Both players will get a shot at proving they're the right on-field representatives this season. Signed from Bayern after a loan spell, Costa's directness and searing pace will no doubt cause problems for the opposing defence.
Mario Mandzukic (ST) - To get the best out of star man Cristiano Ronaldo, it's likely that he will play off of the big Croat. Relishing the physical tussle, Manduzkic made an impact against Chievo, and will now look to do the same at the Allianz Stadium this Saturday.
Cristiano Ronaldo (LW) - While Federico Bernardeschi may feel slightly unlucky to start on the bench again after scoring the winner against Chievo, he isn't replacing CR7. With Juan Cuadrado's poor decision making in the final third, Ronaldo could start out in a wider position this weekend, stretching Lazio's defence. Still hunting for his first goal after a scoreless debut, CR7 will be hungrier than ever.
