13 Confusing Photos… You Will Have to Look More Than Once

Juventus will take on Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in a Serie A clash on Sunday, with the visitors needing only a point to confirm their seventh successive Scudetto.

In fact, the title is already all but won by La Vecchia Signora, who are six points ahead of second-placed SSC Napoli, as well as having a far superior goal difference with just two matches to play.

Nevertheless, Sunday's game is likely to be a tough encounter for Juve, at least if Roma still need a win to ensure a top-four finish and thus qualify for next season's Champions League.

Here's how I Bianconeri might line up on Sunday.

Goalkeeper

  • Buffon

Veteran keeper Gianluigi Buffon is still Juventus' first choice and is bound to make one last appearance at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday, before retiring at the end of this season. Probably.

Defence

  • Cuadrado

Seeing as Massimiliano Allegri replaced his entire back four after his side lost at home to Napoli, it would be either brave or foolish to try to predict his selections on Sunday with any degree of certainty.

Nevertheless, veteran centre-back Andrea Barzagli and Colombia right wing-back Juan Cuadrado have appeared in the last three matches, all of which Juve have won, so Allegri may be inclined to keep them in his starting lineup.

After scoring twice in the Coppa Italia final against AC Milan, Medhi Benatia may feel hard done by if he is dropped for Sunday's clash.

Midfield

Despite his penchant for making changes to his side, Allegri may feel inclined to stick with same midfield five which ultimately proved far too strong for Milan on Wednesday in the Coppa Italia final, with Sami Khedira, Miralem Pjanić and Blaise Matuidi lining up behind roving wingers Paulo Dybala and Douglas Costa.

Dybala will no doubt hope to add to his tally of 23 goals in all competitions this season on Sunday, against a Roma defence short of mobility. Costa may also fancy his chances of scoring, as he has netted twice in his last three matches.

Forwards

  • Higuaín

    Higuaín9

Reportedly unhappy about being dropped for the Coppa Italia final, Gonzalo Higuaín may return to the side on Sunday in place of Mario Mandžukić, who was largely ineffectual against Milan on Wednesday.

The Argentina striker has not enjoyed an especially prolific season by his extraordinarily high standards - he scored a staggering 36 league goals for his former club Napoli in the 2015/16 season, winning the Capocannoniere and equalling the all-time Serie A record.

This season, he has scored a 'mere' 16 league goals - which still makes him the sixth-highest scorer in Serie A.
