The Spain defender indicated that the Blaugrana players wanted to let the Argentine take a penalty in the win over Rayo Vallecano but the former Liverpool man refused
Javier Mascherano isn't known for getting his name on the scoresheet and now we may have a good idea why, as Barcelona team-mate Gerard Pique revealed that he offered a penalty to the Argentine but his offer was refused!
On the team bus following the 5-1 win over Rayo Vallecano on Thursday, Pique recorded a live video question and answer session, revealing that Mascherano didn't want to take a penalty and taking a good-natured swipe at Marc-Andre ter Stegen's Spanish skills.
"We have told Mascherano to take a penalty but has not been confident or has not wanted to take it, I didn't ask," Pique said.
