Mauricio Pochettino admits it was a dream come true to have lunch with Sir Alex Ferguson but insists the Scot did not ask whether he would be interested in a move to Manchester United.
The Spurs boss met with Ferguson in Mayfair on Tuesday, sparking rumours that the Argentine is being lined up to replace Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.
Pochettino has since signed a five-year contract with Tottenham and will secure a second-place finish in the Premier League providing Spurs beat Newcastle United on Sunday.
And when asked if Ferguson mentioned a potential move to Old Trafford, Pochettino said: “No. Sir Alex Ferguson is someone from whom we can only learn. It was fantastic.
“It was a dream come true, because when I was young and I started my career as a manager always he was my inspiration, one of my references.
“When you can share two hours with a person that for me was one of the greatest managers in the world in the history of football, only you can enjoy it.
“I wanted to stop the time. But of course it was impossible.”...
