FSARS
The Edo State Commissioner of Police, Haliru Gwandu, has stated operatives of the federal particular anti-robbery squad (FSARS) will not be directed to cease and search.
He made this identified on Twitter through the #AskThePolice #ReformSARS interactive session on Tuesday.
The Police boss stated it was the responsibility of the police to guard lives and properties, including that the intervention of FSARS is principally on misery calls.
Gwandu stated: “The mandate of the FSARS is big, to sort out violent crimes, armed theft, kidnapping, cattle rustling, and many others.
“The FSARS will not be directed by anyone to cease and search besides if there may be a misery name for them to nip within the bud such crime.
“It is not within the standard operative procedure of the FSARS to dwell into indiscriminate arrest of innocent Nigerians.”
Speaking additional, he stated: “Our males should obey the code of conducts and now have all of the identities required earlier than embarking on an operation.
“The IGP has provided the kits for all personnel nationwide. No officer should be on duty without wearing proper uniform.”
