The Plateau State Police Command have confirmed that suspected fulani herdsmen attacked Lo Pamyet Dewi community in Du District in Jos South Local Government Area of the state on Sunday.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Tyopev Mathias, told reporters on Monday that the report of the attack was received after a distress call from some residents of the community.
As stated by the police spokesperson, police officers were mobilised to the scene of the crime and more security personnel have been deployed to the area to prevent further attacks on the community.
he also stated that the injured persons have been taken to Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) and Plateau Specialist Hospital for medical attention.
Mathias added that an investigation has been launched into the crime.
The police spokesperson further disclosed that 95 houses were burnt and 310 cattle rustled by the assailants.
