Family of a killed motorcycle ticket sales person accused the police of extorting money, Vanguard reports.
Bestman Tobore, 37, was stabbed to death on Friday, May 8, by a robbery suspect.
The alleged murderer was the one identified as Ejaiyeta, aka Ghana Boy, who had escaped from police custody at Ovwian police station in Delta state.
A female relative of the deceased who spoke yesterday on the matter, disclosed that having provided police with information of his killers and series of petitions to that effect, they were asked to make a payment of N500,000 for mobilisation.
The police public relations officer, Celestina Kalu, however refused to comment on the allegation.
