Lagos State Police Command on Monday stated it had foiled attempted armed robbery on two banks in Ikorodu Local Government Area of the state.
The command's spokesman, DSP Kenneth Nwosu who confirmed this in Lagos could not say whether there was any casualty or not.
It was, however, learnt that the suspected armed robbers stormed the First Bank of Nigeria Plc., Omitoro branch and the Wema Bank Plc., in Ijede, Ikorodu, early this morning.
As stated by Nwosu, the suspected armed robbers nearly succeeded but for the timely intervention of the police, who foiled the robbery operation.
He stated the hoodlums moved to Wema bank after a foiled attempt in First bank but were unable to gain access into the bank following the police intervention too.
Nwosu stated the police was yet to make any arrest, saying the case was currently being investigated.
