The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), says having s3xual intercourse in a car is not a crime in the country as long as certain guidelines are fully observed. The disclosure came after a Twitter user, Stanley Moses, asked Shogunle if having s3xual intercourse in a car is a crime. Moses tweeted: “Oga @YomiShogunle please is it a crime to have s3x in your car?” The Twitter user wrote.

In a response, Shogunle, who confirmed that having s3xual intercourse in a car is not a crime in the country, however, listed four guidelines that must be observed. According to the PCRRU head, having s3x in a car in a public place is not a crime in Nigeria provided the location is not a place of worship, the parties are 18 years and above, the act is consensual, that is agreed to by parties and finally if the parties are of the opposite s3x. The Assistant Commissioner of Police added that if threatened with an arrest during the process, the parties involved should contact his department. Shogunle tweeted: “NO. S3x in a car in a public place is not a crime in Nigeria provided; 1. Location is not a place of worship 2. Parties are 18 yrs+ 3. The act is consensual (agreed to by parties)4. Parties are of opposite s3x. If threatened with an arrest over above, pls contact @PoliceNG\_PCRRU,” the tweet added.
