No fewer than 75 suspected cultists and armed robbers were paraded by the Lagos State Police command on Monday.
Lagos State police boss, Fatai Owoseni who paraded the hoodlums commended the media and Lagosians for their support and encouragement during the search for the kidnapped students of Babington Macaulay Junior seminary.
He noted that strategies put in place to combat crime by the police and the state government was being sustained and constantly reviewed with a view of denying the criminals freedom of action.
Owoseni said the fifty Awawa cultists were arrested around Agege area of Lagos.
He also added that out of the 26 suspected armed robbers arrested, one of them died during an exchange of gun battle with the police.
Forty-nine cartridges were, however, recovered from the hoodlums.
As stated by Owoseni, “Following the successful rescue of the abducted school girls by the command on Sunday and the quick resolution of the Mile 12/Agiliti crisis, the command also wishes to inform members of the public that it made modest achievements in other areas.
“Apart from the these incidents which ruptured the serenity of the state, Lagos has been relatively peaceful and safe.”
