To address the lingering fuel scarcity, the Nigerian President has reportedly summoned his Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu, for a brief on the supply of products across the country.
Mr Kachikwu had to shelve his scheduled interaction with the media to attend the President’s summon.
Channels Television’s State House correspondent confirmed that Mr Kachikwu was indeed sighted at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday but the outcome of the meeting was not revealed.
As stated by the spokesperson of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mr Garbadeen Mohammed, there is nothing unusual about the summons, as there is need for constant interaction between both of them.
Nigerians would be hoping that the meeting yields result as they continue to grapple with fuel scarcity across the country.
There are still long queues, high prices, and black marketers are having a ball.
