Jurgen Klopp has signed a new six-year deal with Liverpool, which will keep him at Anfield until 2022.
It will allow the 49-year-old to fully implement his ‘fighting football’ vision at the club, with his blueprint in sync with Fenway Sports Group’s strategy for the Reds.
To mark Klopp’s long-term commitment, Goal
**THOU SHALT GO FORTH AND CONQUER
**
Klopp’s message is simple: the ball belongs to Liverpool. Use it effectively, and hunt for it incessantly.
**THOU SHALT WORK, WORK, WORK, WORK, WORK
**
The Reds may not be the team containing the best players, but they will be the team that works best. Aggressive on the ball, they will also be proactive out of possession, harrying the opposition and forcing them into mistakes.
**THOU SHALT PLAY ENTERTAINING FOOTBALL
**
Stale, sterile, boring? Those are words you wouldn’t use to describe Liverpool’s run to the Europa League final last season, and it won’t be used to label their style in future if Klopp has anything to do with it.
**THOU SHALT STRIKE BACK
**
The Reds lost two finals last season, but the trainer expects the club to use that as a springboard to success, not as an excuse to feel sorry for themselves.
**THOU SHALT LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD
**
It doesn’t matter who the opposition is, what matters is making sure your gameplan is the dominant one.
**THOU SHALT STAND APART
**
**Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United are willing to pay blockbuster fees to blockbuster players, but Liverpool won’t be following suit.
