Chief Edwin Clark
The Nigerian Police Force has said it is an investigation into a raid in the home of Niger Delta leader Edwin Clark on Tuesday.
About five police officers had raided the home of the former minister over suspicion of stockpiling arms and ammunition.
However, a statement from the police described it as illegal and unauthorized.
As stated by the Nigerian Police Force, the officers involved have been detained as investigations into the matter continued.
“The Inspector-General of Police is not aware and did not order the raid of the residence of the Elder Statesman, Chief Edwin Clark,” the statement added.
“The outcome of the investigation will definitely be made public.”
Meanwhile, the Niger Delta leader wondered why the security agents would believe that he would stockpile arms and ammunition at home.
