A 4-month-old baby, has no choice but to stay at the Kirikiri Maximum Prison with his mother pending the time she will be released from custody by a Lagos state Magistrate court.
Chinonye Kenneth, the baby’s mother was arrested by the police at Ikotun Division and charged before Ejigbo Magistrates’ court for allegedly assaulting, Godwin Anigbogu her neighbour.

The alleged incident took place at 10, Omoboriowo street, off Ile-Iwe bus stop, Egbe, where both the suspect and victim reside, PM News reports.
Chinonye reportedly pushed her neighbour into a gutter during a quarrel, as a result of which he sustained injury.

The matter was reported at Ikotun police division and was later dragged to court where Chinonye is facing a two-count charge of assault and wounding under the Criminal Code. She, however, pleaded not guilty.
Chinonye had to take lil Akachi Keneth to prison because she is still breast feeding.
Mr A. A. Fashola, the presiding Magistrate, granted her bail with two sureties in like sum and must have paid one year’s tax. She was remanded in prison custody pending when her bail will be perfected.
The matter was however adjourned to Wednesday, November 18.
