Real Betis sporting director Miguel Torrecilla has announced his intention to renew a loan deal for Chelsea's Charly Musonda after an impressive season in La Liga.

The 19-year-old made his professional debut forΒ Betis in January and wonΒ man of the match in his first game against Valencia with further good performances having impressed the Spanish side.

Betis survived relegation and are looking to keep the Belgian youngster for another season although they have admitted they are unable to afford a permanent deal for the teenager.

Goal understands thatΒ Chelsea are currently reviewing whether to keep the Belgian in their first team squad or to send him back out to Spain after the Andalucian club made their intentions to keep him back in April.

Torrecilla has confirmed his intentions to keep the youngster at theΒ Estadio Benito Villamarin saying: "He is a player for a top team and Chelsea will protect his talent.

"An option to buy him could be too expensive for us and will be impossible to pay it.Β These clubs buy and invest in talented players."

MusondaΒ is a skilful winger who has captured Andalucian hearts by adapting well to life at Real Betis both on and off the pitch. In his six first matches at the club Betis went unbeaten and they collected 12 points that have helped to keep the club in La Liga for another year.

Musonda has made no secret that he would like to stay at the Seville club and recently told AS:Β "There is a big chance that I will stay at Betis because I am very happy here and everything is going perfect. This is a great club, there's no doubt.

"Sometimes all a player needs is a chance to play. I was waiting for it, I wanted to show my football. Betis have been the perfect place.Β La Liga is one of the best championships in the world. Perhaps the most technical and here we have the best two teams in the world [Barcelona and Real Madrid]."

Musonda has temporarily returned to London and isΒ close friends with Chelsea's star man Eden Hazard and met Neymar when his side played against Barcelona.

Chelsea's Joe Edwards is leading the process to decide if Chelsea loan players are ready for the first team after their loan spells or whether they will spend more time gaining experience elsewhere.

Edwards was recently promoted to this role after gaining huge success coaching Chelsea's Under 18Β team which won their third FA Youth Cup in a row and will discuss Musonda's future with incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.
