The midfielder could have quite the little footballer on his hands if his son follows in the footpaths of his namesake - and his father, too, of course!
Granada midfielder Javi Marquez has welcomed the birth of a new-born son - and he appears to have been inspired by a Real Madrid star when selecting his unusual name.
The 29-year-old's happy news was announced by his club this morning, revealing that the player had opted to call his son Modric, after Croatia international Luka Modric.
A tweet from the club's official account read: "Congratulations also to Javi Marquez for the birth of his son Modric, who has come into the world today! Congratulations Dad!" Marquez, who was born in Barcelona and has represented Catalan selection, has come up against the Madrid player once this season, losing out in a 1-0 away defeat in September.
