Top Nigerian celebrities Terry G, Channel O presenter Denrele, Nollywood actress Grace Amah and others, were on Monday ejected from their hotel rooms in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. The celebrities were reported to have lodged in the hotel for a programme organized to host Nollywood stars that hail from Ebonyi State, and are making waves in the entertainment industry. Some of the stars include Cha Cha Ekeh and Patoranking. Celebrities were seen at the Government House protesting the careless treatment meted out on them, New Telegraph reports. The hotel was stated to be owned by a prominent politician in the state and lodged by the state Ministry of Culture and Tourism who were also the organizers of the event. One of the affected celebrity, Sholade, stated that they had entered into an agreement with the government to be paid a certain amount of money as appearance fee which the government could not honor. She said “instead of them giving us our return tickets, our appearance fee; they sent police men to forcefully eject us from our hotel room”. She added that the two cars whose keys were handed over to Grace Amah and Patoranking at the event, have not been delivered to the celebs as the organizers were yet to complete the payment to the suppliers. In a reaction, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Jerry Uhuo stated only four days was approved for the celebs which elapsed Sunday night. However, Uhuo regretted that some of the artists misbehaved, including smoking against the stipulated rules in the hotel where they were lodged.
