Bayern Munich's domestic dominance continued as they secured their fourth consecutive Bundesliga title and capped Pep Guardiola's final season at the club with the DFB-Pokal trophy in 2015/16.
The Spaniard leaves Bavaria having won seven pieces of silverware and laid the foundations for Carlo Ancelotti, who will have his eyes fixed firmly on the Champions League when he arrives in the summer. Guardiola led his team to three semi-final appearances in the competition but failed to reach a single final.
Bayern were knocked out of Europe by Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid in this year's competition and immediately made a statement of intent, announcing the signings of Renato Sanches from Benfica and Mats Hummels, who returns for his second spell at the club, from Borussia Dortmund.
The flurry of incoming quality is unlikely to stop there, however, as Die Roten chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge continues his drive to mould the club into a dominant European force.
CONFIRMED DEALS
After weeks of speculation, Bayern secured a deal to bring Borussia Dortmund centre-half Mats Hummels back to the club after seven years at Wesfalenstadion. The Germany international made 30 Bundesliga appearances for Thomas Tuchel's side last season and will immediately slot in beside Jerome Boateng at centre-back.
The Bavarian club also announced a deal for Benfica's highly-rated midfielder Renato Sanches, who has joined the club for €35 million. The 18-year-old rejected a move to Manchester United to join Bayern and is considered as one of the most promising youngsters in European football.
Bayern have also rewarded young hopefuls Niklas Dorsch and Fabian Benko with first-team contracts, while Serder Tasci returns to parent club Spartak Moscow having made just three appearances during his loan spell.
THE ARRIVALS
In addition to the aforementioned high-profile signings, CEO Rummenigge is believed to be looking for another established attacking player.
After confirmation of the incoming duo, the Bayern chief said: "We will see, what we'll do. We have two excellent new players, but our plans aren't completed yet."
The comments come off the back of rumours linking the club with moves for Schalke winger Leroy Sane and Roma's Miralem Pjanic, though a move for both looks unrealistic.
THE DEPARTURES
It's likely that the main area of change at the Allianz Arena will be in defence, as Medhi Benatia will make way for Hummels at the heart of the Bayern back four. The Morocco international has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal and is keen on establishing himself elsewhere.
Serdar Tasci has already confirmed he will not be in Munich next season after a lack of playing time under Pep Guardiola, and Carlo Ancelotti is lining up a long-term replacement for stalwart Philipp Lahm. This could subsequently see Rafinha leave the club given that he has struggles to convince the management he has the desired quality to make the position his own.
Denmark international Pierre Hojbjerg has also announced he will leave in the summer as he searches for first-team football, having spent last season on loan to Schalke.
A host of Bundesliga sides are chasing the signature of Sebastian Rode, including Borussia Monchengladbach, Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg. The 25-year-old started just three league games for the champions and a future at the club looks unlikely.
Liverpool target Mario Gotze has reassured Bayern fans by telling them he will stay and fight for his place under Ancelotti, while top scorer Robert Lewandowski is expected to stay put despite speculation linking him with a switch to Real Madrid.
