imageAs stated by reports, renowned economist, activist and nationalist, Baba Oluwide Omojola, is dead.

He died at the age of 75.

He was one of Nigeria's first generation human right activist and advocate who was one of the detainees thrown into prison during the horrendous human right violations of the duo, Gen Ibrahim Babangida and the late Sanni Abacha.

He was a fighting icon in the campaign against colonial rule having worked with the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Kwame Nkrumah Aminu Kano and Pa Imoudu as a covert mobiliser for progressive transformation of Nigeria.

For over 50 years, the old man has been a recurrent decimal in the struggle for a better society. He is a leading figure in the Yoruba Self Determination Movement and one of the unrelenting stars in the campaign for justice and liberty in Nigeria.

He had his education in London at the London School of Economics and later studied in Warsaw in Poland in the early 1960s.
