Martin O'Neill's men came back from a goal down to go 2-1 up by virtue of winning two penalties, before an own goal from the Reading defender ensured the affair ended in a draw
Two penalties were not enough for Republic of Ireland as they drew 2-2 with Slovakia in their penultimate warm-up friendly ahead of Euro 2016 at the Aviva Stadium on Tuesday.
Slovakia, who will also compete at this summer's Euros in France, took the lead early doors as Miroslav Stoch guided a fantastic strike beyond Rob Elliot, who had to be stretchered off with a knee injury afterwards.
Shane Long won and scored a soft penalty to level the affair, before the Southampton man earned his side another spot-kick when Martin Skrtel fouled him inside the box seconds after the restart.
James McClean calmly drove Ireland's second penalty past Matus Kozacik to put his side in front for the first time, before Paul McShane deflected a cross from the right-hand flank into his own net just before the interval.
