The U.S. still secured the top seed in Group G despite a lousy finish.

The U.S. fell behind in the 26th minute after Solo misplayed a free kick by Usme.

Crystal Dunn, a Rockville Centre native, evened the score with her first career Olympic goal in the 41st minute.

The game remained tied until 18-year-old Mallory Pugh scored in the 59th minute, becoming the youngest goal scorer in the Olympics.

Usme’s free-kick goal evened the score, and no one scored in the three minutes of stoppage time.

The U.S. finished group play with a 2-0-1 record with wins over France and New Zealand. It moves on to the quarterfinals on Friday against the third-place finisher from Group E or Group F.
