RIO DE JANEIRO — Usain Bolt has completed an unprecedented third consecutive sweep of the 100- and 200-meter sprints Thursday, further elevating his status as the most decorated male sprinter in Olympic history.
Bolt won gold in the finals of the 200-meters in a time of 19.78 for his third straight sprint double after winning the 100 and 200 in the London and Beijing Games.
Canada’s Andre De Grasse won the silver in a time of 20.02. Christophe Lemaitre from France took the bronze with a time of 20.12.
American LaShawn Merritt didn’t medal.
