Market women in Rivers State, yesterday barricaded Aba Road, towards Mile 1 flyover in Port Harcourt to protest the nullification of the election of Governor Nyesom Wike by the Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal. The women insisted they participated in the election and gave their mandate to Wike. Drawn from across different local governments of the state, the women carried pladcards of different inscriptions amidst shouts of, “We want justice.” Leader of the protesting women, Mrs. Charity Agbonyo, said the women decided to protest and pray because they want justice. “They said it (tribunal’s ruling) is justice. What kind of justice is that? Wike is the person we want. We want him to rule us because just few days in office, everybody knows there is government in Rivers,” she stated.
