Roma are considering a €15 million bid for Real Madrid centre-back Nacho, Goal understands.
The 26-year-old made only 22 appearances last season and is currently Zinedine Zidane’s fourth choice behind Sergio Ramos, Pepe and Raphael Varane.
Before returning to pre-season training, Nacho was told by Madrid that he still has a future at the club, while the player is also content to fight for his place.
But Zinedine Zidane will now hold a meeting with the defender on Saturday for further talks about his future and the possibility of a move to Roma will depend on the outcome.
Despite only using him sparingly last season, Zidane is happy with Nacho as his back-up option in defence.
The Serie A club are ready to offer Nacho more playing time, as well as a salary increase.
Diego Llorente and Jesus Vallejo, two of Madrid’s rising stars in defence, have already been loaned out to Malaga and Eintracht Frankfurt.
