Ronaldinho believes Neymar is flourishing at Barcelona because of the guidance he is receiving from Lionel Messi.
The 24-year-old moved to Camp Nou in 2013 and has starred in Barca’s attack alongside the Argentine, winning two La Liga titles, the Champions League, the Club World Cup and the Copa del Rey twice in just three seasons.
Messi has credited Ronaldinho with helping his transition to the first team, and the Brazilian believes his former team-mate is now doing the same to aid Neymar.
“I believe the attention and dedication that I had for Messi, he is doing the same for Neymar,” Ronaldinho told Goal.
“It is very important for an experienced player to show the way and share the journey with a young player and Messi is doing that. This is why Neymar is adapting and playing very well at Barcelona.
"Neymar is a talent and is a good friend. He is one of the top players in the world."
The Brazilian also believes that Messi remains the best player in the world, despite losing in four finals with Argentina.
“For me, this does not change anything,” he said.
“He is still the best. If he really does leave, it will be a loss for football, nothing else.”
