RUMOURS: Arsenal Interested In Barcelona Defender Mathieu

Arsenal have made enquiries as to the availability of Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu, according SFR Sport.

The Gunners are searching for a new centre-back ahead of the new Premier League season after Gabriel and Per Mertesacker suffered injuries, with Laurent Koscielny a late returnee following his participation at Euro 2016.

Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi, but have reportedly also shown interest in Mathieu, who turned down the advances of Besiktas this summer.
