The Belgian striker has emerged as a transfer target for fellow Premier League side West Ham, although his high wages at Anfield could prove a stumbling block
West Ham are one of the clubs who are prepared to offer Belgian striker Christian Benteke a route out of Liverpool, according to The Times.
The 25-year-old joined the Reds for £32.5million last summer from Aston Villa but has failed to make a big impression, scoring just seven goals in his 24 Premier League appearances.
Jurgen Klopp has claimed he has faith in him, but it is thought the German coach would be prepared to let him leave Anfield at the end of the season.
Slaven Bilic’s side have emerged as one of the favourites to land Benteke’s signature, although his wages could prove a problem.
Liverpool currently pay him £120,000 a week, while West Ham would only be prepared to offer him £80,000 a week.
