The West Ham playmaker is the latest player to be targeted by the big-spending Chinese Super League, with an enormous salary on the table that the Hammers cannot match
West Ham face a fight to keep Dimitri Payet at Upton Park after an unnamed Chinese club made it clear they were ready to offer £38 million for the Frenchman, according to reports.
The summer signing from Marseille has been exceptional since moving to east London, and Sky Sports report that he could be the next superstar to make the switch to the Chinese Super League.
The likes of Ramires, Jackson Martinez and Gervinho have all swapped European football for China in recent weeks, and now one unnamed club are targeting Payet.
As well as having £38m ready to splash on the Frenchman, the Chinese outfit are also prepared to offer him £135,000-a-week after tax - a salary West Ham have no chance of matching.
