The 27-year-old has found himself running afoul of English football's governing body and could be on the receiving end of further sanctions over his latest indiscretions
Diego Costa could face an extended ban for his dismissal in Chelsea's 2-0 loss at Everton in their FA Cup quarter-final clash, although it will not be for appearing to bite Gareth Barry, writes the Mirror.
The striker received a second yellow card during the clash on Saturday and seemingly bit the English veteran, although the latter has publicly ruled out that he was on the receiving end of such an action.
However, Costa – who has a chequered record replete with disciplinary issues – could still fall afoul of the English FA after refusing to leave the pitch immediately after referee Michael Oliver had brandished the red.
English football's governing body have already confirmed they could alter the automatic one-game suspension the 27-year-old has received.
Meanwhile, Costa could have landed himself in more hot water after being caught on camera making an obscene gesture at Everton fans.
