The Arsenal midfielder impressed the Catalan when Arsenal faced Bayern Munich two years ago, and he wants to recruit the 22-year-old when he starts his Etihad reign
Pep Guardiola wants to sign Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain when he becomes Manchester City manager this summer, according to The Times.
The Bayern Munich boss is set to take over at the Etihad Stadium ahead of the 2016-17 season and plans to use the England international on the right flank were he to secure his signature, with Raheem Sterling on the left.
Guardiola was impressed by Oxlade-Chamberlain's performance against Bayern two years ago, as Arsenal drew 1-1 with Bayern at Allianz Arena, and City's interest is set to focus contract discussions in north London.
The attacker's current deal expires in 2018 and it is understood that the prospect of working with Guardiola would appeal to him, along with a hike in wages.
