Stoke City boss Mark Hughes is on Chelsea’s shortlist to become their manager at the end of the season, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The report claims that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wants his next manager to offer a long-term strategy and is not looking for another quick-fix solution.
France boss Didier Deschamps is also being considered but Hughes, a former Chelsea player, is also in the running.
The 52-year-old had been on Chelsea’s shortlist before he took charge of Manchester City in 2008.
This season, he’s helped guide Stoke to ninth in the table and transformed the club’s style of play with the signings of Bojan, Marko Arnautovic and Xherdan Shaqiri.
