The Athletic Bilbao defender has a release clause of £39.4 million and has agreed to link up with Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium
Aymeric Laporte has agreed to join Manchester City from Athletic Bilbao this summer, according to Sport.
The France international, who has a release clause of £39.4 million at San Mames, has long been linked with a move to Barcelona but is now poised to become Pep Guardiola's first signing at the Etihad Stadium.
Bilbao have repeatedly rebuffed attempts by City to sign Laporte, insisting that he can only leave if a club triggers his release clause, but now appear to have accepted he will depart at the end of the season.
