Barca hope to keep academy product Sergio Gomez at Camp Nou but face competition from Jurgen Klopp's side, who have been impressed by the youngster's potential
According to Marca, Liverpool are keeping tabs on 15-year-old Barcelona academy product Sergio Gomez, with the Merseyside club contacting the Catalan giants this week to enquire about his availability.
The youngster caught the attention of Reds officials during a February scouting mission in a youth match played between the two sides, which finished 4-3 in favour of Barca.
Liverpool are now willing to offer a blank cheque to the Blaugrana in order to steal their star teenager away from the club.
Premier League clubs are constantly on the lookout to snatch up graduates of La Masia when they turn 16 but Barca hope to persuade the midfielder to remain at Camp Nou for the foreseeable future despite interest from England.
