After failing with a bid worth €40 million (£30.7m) before the close of the January window, the Red Devils remain determined to get their hands on the 18-year-old Benfica star
Manchester United are stepping up their pursuit of Benfica youngster Renato Sanches with an offer worth up to €60 million (£46m), O Jogo claims to have been told by agent Jorge Mendes.
Though the January transfer window has shut, the Red Devils are said to be determined to get their man, having failed with a €40m bid for the 18-year-old midfielder.
The improved offer remains some way short of Sanches' buyout clause, reportedly worth £58.8m, but United hope to tempt the Portuguese club into selling a player who has quickly impressed since breaking into the first team, with a third of the total of their newest bid dependent on bonuses.
Sanches, who has been likened to former Barcelona star Ronaldinho, has scored two goals in 13 top-flight appearances for Benfica so far this season.
