Louis van Gaal claims David de Gea is happy at Old Trafford, but a big offer from Real Madrid could change the Spaniard's mind
Manchester United are said to be plotting a swoop for Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland, according to a report in The Daily Mail.
Real Madrid's impending transfer ban has reignited rumours that the David de Gea may look to force through a move, though Louis van Gaal insists his No.1 is happy at Old Trafford.
Still, Victor Valdes' exit will leave the club with only Sergio Romero as back up should De Gea decide the Spanish capital is where his future lies before the end of the January window.
Butland has been in sensational form this season and looks set to sit behind England's first choice custodian Joe Hart at Euro 2016 in France.
