Manchester United are ready to pay €80 million (£62.1m) for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The report claims that the 28-year-old is Jose Mourinho’s priority transfer target, and the Portuguese is already living in Manchester ahead of official confirmation that he will replace Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.
Higuain has a €94.5m (£73.4m) release clause but United are willing to test the water with a slightly lower offer.
Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea are also keen on the Argentine, who has scored 25 goals in Serie A this season.
