Steven McClaren has stated that he will not resign despite finding himself embroiled in a relegation battle, but the club are ready to make changes at St James' Park
David Moyes has been identified as the man to save Newcastle's season, according to a report in the Telegraph.
The Magpies are expected to sack Steve McClaren after the club fell to a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Bournemouth which leaves the Tyneside club in 19th place in the Premier League.
With 10 games remaining, Newcastle are taking steps to avoid relegation and it is said former Manchester United boss Moyes is interested in taking over at St James' Park.
The only potential sticking point, however, is how much power club owner Mike Ashley would be willing to give the Scottish boss regarding player transfers.
